In His Presence, the Kabod (Part II)
We saw that the tips of the cherubim’s wings touched over the mercy seat upon the Ark of the Testimony in last month’s October newsletter. Scripture in Hebrews 8:5 (Amp.) says, “[But these offer] service [merely] as a pattern as a foreshadowing of [what has its true existence and reality in] the heavenly sanctuary…” There is a mercy seat in heaven that we have access to. Our great God sits on that seat extending new mercies to us every morning (Lam. 3:22&23).
So, what do we do when we realize that demons are coming against us or someone that we care about? What about the demonic forces assigned against our nation, government, our church? Look at Numbers 10:34-35, “And the cloud of the Lord was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp. And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.” The cloud was their guidance by the Holy Spirit. We are not guided by a cloud today, but certainly “led by the Spirit” (Rom. 8:14). The Lord guides us in a direction and our enemies come against us “as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour” (1 Pet. 5:8). We are instructed in verses 8 & 9 (Amp.) to be “sober of mind, vigilant, and cautious at all times… Withstand him, be firm in faith.”
Notice in Numbers 10:35 that Moses asks the Lord to rise up. In other words, “Lord, arise from your mercy seat and scatter (break, shake into pieces) those that hate you.” This is exactly what Jesus did in 1 John 3:8, “… For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” Jesus did just that. Now, we have to enforce that defeat in Jesus’ name.
Second Samuel 6:1&2 says, “Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand. And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the Lord of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.” Notice, the Lord of hosts abides at the mercy seat of the Ark which He is also called Yahweh Sabaoth. This implies that the “hosts” are angelic forces of heaven constantly ready to do God’s command. David declared to Goliath, “I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied” (1 Sam. 17:45). ...And Goliath was destroyed.
I had been away from my family for three days fasting and seeking the Lord. The Lord revealed to me that I would see the angels assigned to me. I told the Lord that I did not feel that I could see them and live. I feared. Yes, I was wrong; I know. …Be alone in a hotel room and prepare to see angels. I came home from my trip, and that night, the family was asleep. All at once, I heard Chaunta walking up and down the hall groaning. I called to her. Robert and I both sat up to comfort her. She was crying that they had come to take me (Charlotte) away. I asked, “Who?” She pointed to our front yard and said, “Don’t you see them? They are everywhere.” I
knew that she was seeing the angels assigned to me. I asked her, “Chaunta, are you seeing angels?” She began to cry. “Oh yes, Mommy, they are angels.” Well, I sensed the Holy Presence of God all over me.
Come into our Lord’s Presence. He is the Lord of Hosts, and He is there to arise up and scatter your enemies in Jesus’ name. Amen!
